[Opinions] not a good idea (m)
It's very much a last name, and not of the Anglo-Saxon type that is so common to use as first names now. It's very German-ish, and I believe there are a lot of Amish/Mennonite people with Hertzler as a last name.So it would be kind of like using the name Stolzfuss or Yoder as a first name.Also, the only nn that comes to mind for me is Hertz. As in rental cars. Or hurts.
