[Opinions] Keegan
What is so bad about the name Keegan? I am referring to it on a male so I am not looking for "It is a male name, and should not be used on a girl." I guess I am just asking because whenever someone brings up the name people are very quick to say they dislike it. Is there are reason to dislike it that I am not noticing?

I don't mind it. I doubt I'd use it, but I still don't mind it.

other than it being trendy, the Keeg reminds me of a 'keg' of beer, and the k and hard g sounds together are just unpleasant to my ears.

It sounds dumb to me. "Keeg" sounds like you have a cold, or else you're up late at night inventing silly noises and giggling your butt off. "an" sounds trendy and boring. The K is really ugly. The two e's are silly. They're silly in any case of course. It sounds like a really contrived neo-Irish name.It makes me want to giggle when I hear it.

Hm...I actually detest this name but I am not sure why! So I am trying to articulate my feelings on it. I think it's because it seems quite tryndee. Probably because it begins with a K and the Kee- is very similar to the popular Kay- beginning. It also has the trendy -an ending (as in Aiden Caden Zaden Hayden Jaiden, as well as Carson, Dylan, Clayton, and many more). Also, it is Irish, and Celtic names are very trendy/in and have been for a while. So that is why it feels trendy, I think. Also, Celtic names in general aren't to my taste (which run more towards, say, Margaret or Ernest), which would explain why Keegan isn't my thing.Does that help? I think that's why I'm not into it.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the name Keegan. Though it's not one of my absolute favorites I do like it a lot.

I hate the "gan" at the end. IDK why, I hate it in Megan and Regan or any name like that too.

I actually like the name Keegan - have for a long time. It has fallen off my list, though, because of the trenyness of it :(

Personally to me it sounds very trendy.Plus it has the feel of belonging to an ASBO kid and rather chavvy. I'd expect Keegan to go around in tracksuit and bling spray-painting walls and knicking things Or it belongs to a five year-old brat who goes around smacking the other kids (talk about stereotyping! :) ).

Hmm, well I have a 18 year old cousin named Keegan so I don't see it as trendy but I see how it looks like it follows the trends. Also, my cousin was a bit of a bratty child so your stereotype may be spot on. He has gotten better over the years though.
