My cousin is named Veronica, after our grandmother. She went by Rona for years, but then started to spell it Rhona to make it more Irish (she lives in Ireland).

I used to have a close friend named Rhona. I don't like the name much, but there is nothing wrong with it.

My mom's best friend's name is Rhona, so needless to say, it has great connotations for our family.

As a name though, I really don't like it. It sounds to me like "groan" and that's never a good thing. Also dislike Rhoda, Rhonda, etc.

Maybe it's the Rh- that I don't like...? Although... Rhiannon is nice... IDK. I guess it's just NMSAA.
