My grandmother's name is Cecelia and I prefer that spelling with the nn Celia. I don't like the nn Cece though.

That's what I love about that spelling...the nn Celia...although I know you could still use it with the other spelling.

I love Cecilia, but Cecelia just looks misspelled to me.

Cecelia looks wrong to me too. Plus Cecilia is not only my Babci's name, it's my bestest friends name too. :) I also love Cecily and am torn daily between which I love more.

Cecelia looks too complex for my taste. I prefer spellings Cecilia and Cecily.

I don't know why but Cecilia looks better to me. I think its a really pretty name, not over-used which to me is a plus. I went to school with a girl whose name was Celia and I always thought that was a pretty name too.

I like Cecelia, and I prefer this spelling. Cecilia reminds me of science class (it's the cilia part).
I like the nickname Cece too.

I like Cecilia well enough though I don't care for its meaning. The sound is quite pretty. It offers several nn options and that's always a bonus in my book. As far as the spelling, I'm usually a stickler for original spellings unless we're talking different forms of a name (ex., Elizabeth, Elisabeth, Elizaveta, Elisavet, Elisabet).

I hate the meaning. I'd use Cicely.

Adore it. Both are lovely but I prefer Cecilia, just because it's the more common spelling. I like that it's a little skinnier, too.
