The name John has really been growing on me lately. I know it's like extremely common, but I really cannot help but like it. Do you think it's too common, or does anyone else really like it?Also, can you think of any good middle names for John?Thanks :)

I adore it. I know it's really common, but it's also a really great name with a good history. Also, I love John Adams, so that connection is really superb, I think. Glee! Some combos:John Francis

John Claude (which sounds a bit strange, like you're mispronouncing Jean Claude)

John EdwardI think John can go with most names, so it might be a good name to use a MN that has a lot of personal signifigance. But those are some I think sound good with it, off the top of my head.

I love John and really it's not that common anymore on younger children. It's sort of an older person's name now, but I think that makes it fairly stylish with the revival of those sorts of names. It's classic, it's biblical, and really for those names popularity doesn't matter to me at all. Like Elizabeth and Grace it's above that IMHO.Now I want to talk about John with my husband...

I think John is a perfectly fine, classic and strong name. It is common, yes, but that doesn't have to mean that it isn't nice. I like the following combos:John Oscar

I love the name John! It's actually my second favorite name at the moment. I don't at all think it's too common. It's such a classy, handsome, masculine name that will age well. Some middle name suggestions:John Spencer (my personal favorite)

It's extremely common on adults, but quite rare on babies today. Jack is the trendy variation of the decade. I like it, mainly because of John the Baptist. I'd tend towards a mn that wasn't accented on the first syllable. John Alaric

I really loathe it, its nny and its a really popular nn (as with Tim, Nick, Chris). I hate when people cut out the traditional name (Timothy, Nicholas, Christopher) and just use the nn. I love Jonathan, and would rather see John as a nn for Jonathan. However, I would like even better for it to be Jonathan with no nn

There are only two names I describe as 'cryingly boring': John and Karen. I like classic names and all, but John is just one I havn't been able to get on board with. Nothing really wrong with it, but for me it just falls completely flat.

I've always loved the name John. Like Mary, it may have been overly used in the past. But there is such a reaction against common names like these that they are starting to sound rare to me!John Sebastian

I love John! Yeah, it's common, but I never mind seeing it. John just has such a kick to it, and it can fit many personalities.John Michael is actually my uncle's name. I like it, but it is a bit predictable.Some John combos:

Oddly enough, I have only met one young John (with that being his given name). I've met three John / Jon 's that were a nickname for Jonathan.I think a lot of mns go with John...John Michael (as in your signature :P)
