I'm a journalist and i travel all over the world. I had been in Africa and i was waiting to fly home - i was sitting with my head in the toilet of my airport hotel room for the fourth time in one morning when i first thought i could be pregnant. I had been sick on and off for the past week and i thought it was just a bug i'd picked up from some dodgy food. Out of the blue i thought "What if i'm pregnant?" but i dismissed the thought and boarded the plane - i told myself i'd do a test when i got home just to be on the safe side but i couldnt get the thought out of my head - it tortured me throughout the entire flight. When i got off the plane i just couldnt wait anymore, i had to know. I tore through the duty free, found a chemist, bought a test and locked myself in the airport loos. I went into shock when i saw 'positive' i just sat there on the toilet staring at the test for like 20 minutes - then it hit me and i started crying happy tears, i sat there and sobbed until a woman knocked on the door and asked me if i was alright - i opened the door and just flung myself on this complete stranger and started hugging her. I told Rowan that evening - as soon as i got in the door in fact. I opened the door, shouted 'i'm home' and went into the kitchen. Rowan was making dinner - he dropped everything and ran to me and hugged me and spun me round. I said "Ive got a present for you" and i fished out the test from my bag. The look on his face was priceless. We didnt want to tell Sam until we were absolutely certain so i did three more tests - all positive. So the next night at the tea table i said 'Sam I'm going to have a baby. You're going to have a brother or sister'. But that was nine months ago and finally our daughter is here! We named her Fflur Eirwen Carys because Rowan's mother's family is welsh.
