Joel and I met at the arts college we both attended. He was a freshman, studying art; I was a junior, studying music. We ended up in a jazz history class together, sitting next to each other. Even though he was younger than me, I found myself drawn to him . He had a great sense of humor and a good mind for details - useful when we became study partners. One thing led to another, and before I knew it, we were married. Now, to hope that the "starving artists" saying doesn't ring true....
