Message: "Linton" - Behind the Name

I've just finished reading my favourite Bronte novel 'Wuthering Heights', and I can't stop thinking about the name Linton. I don't know why it's stuck with me, because I'd consider it a last name and normally, I hate last names as first names.

This could be a first-time exception. I kinda like it. WDYT?

It makes me think of lint and also of Lipton iced tea. I don't like it as a first name.

do i drink too much tea...when i first read it i just thought of Lipton... i know different spelling, but it did come to mine. Its ok, i wouldn't use it, but it could be could as a mn...

I prefer Linden. It's less surname-y.

Don't really like it, possibly because the Bronte character wasn't particularly likeable and cast a negative impression.

I think of lint. And if I look at it for more than a second, I think its a typo and should have a space (lint on) - thats the writing-nerd in me.

I don't like it but I can understand how you fall in love with a name due to a story. I always hated Ed- names but after reading Narnia, I love Edmund.

Maybe as a mn it would work better?

Somehow, I didn't see the word lint on reading the name first. It seems ridiculously obvious now though.

Hasn't ruined it for me, though. And yes, I agree about the mn. I wouldn't mind using it.
