The children were playing in the backyard, when we hear screaming and Ashton bursts into the house yelling that Amelie was hurt. She'd fallen off the swingset (Alex and I are always telling them not to stand on the swings....) and onto her arm. We took her to the hospital where they took x-rays and put a cast on her wrist. It comes off in a few weeks, and she's been avoiding the swingset since then.
General update: Ashton, Avril and Amelie are doing rather well in school. Ashton is very popular, and is best friends with Nate from next door. Avril is a lot like Ashton, and she often has playdates with kids from her class. Amelie is a lot shyer, and doesn't have nearly as many friends, but she is however best friends with Nate's younger sister, Emma.
Phoenix and River love spending the day at home with me and their two new sisters. The two of them are the best of friends.
We adopted Ruby from the UK and decided to keep her name as is. She's quite shy still, but is warming up to our family quite a bit. She follows River and Phoenix around the house most of the time.
Helena is the newest member of our family, and she was actually planned. When River and Phoenix turned 2, Alex and I decided we wanted another baby (as well as to adopt). She's a quiet baby, and all of the children love 'playing' with her.
