[Opinions] Kiran
Ok, so I know that most of you think it should be for a boy, but what about Kiran for a girl?
Do you think it would work better as first or middle names?
Any combos?
Thanks.

Let's keep boy names as boy names. The name pool for them is already small. I generally prefer this name for boys. If you were to absolutely use it for a girl though, I'd stick it as a middle name.
Alternatives to Kiran for a girl:
Kira
Keera
Keira
Kiera
Karen
Karin (pronounced CAR-in... knew a very sweet girl with this name)

I prefer Kira.
How would it be pronounced?
Are you pronouncing it like Kieran / Keiran / Ciaran? Because if you are then I think it would be fine. I mean I personally like it more for a boy. I like Killian / Cillian for a girl. Because I think Killian is kind of like Lillian / Gillian / Jillian. I also like the nn Kiki, and Kaye / Kay.

Unisex, but prefer it for a boy.

I like it for either sex, either slot, fn or mn. Love the meaning, this name is such a gem.
If I think of any combos I'll post them.

I know more female Kirans than male Kirans, I think I had three in my class at one point, so yes it can work on either gender.
Unisex! But...
This only depends on which meaning, of the name, I have to go with:
If the meaning is the "dust" or "thread" ones... Then for a boy.
If the meaning is the "sunbeam" one... Then for a girl.
It's one of my fave names btw.

Actually I knew an Indian girl called Kiran and I didn't mind it, but I don't think it would work on someone with a non Indian background because it wouldn't be taken as the unisex Indian name but as a variation of Kieran. Personally I prefer Keira on a girl.

Sorry, it's still all boy to me. :)
I do not like Kiran on a girl. I prefer it on a boy, definately.
I think it's better as a middle name. I still don't like it for a girl. What about Kira?
