It's official; we're grandparents! I can't believe our very first baby now has a child of her own, but our new granddaughter, Miss Matilda Sophia Newton (or Tilly, for short) is absolutely adorable and has two extremely doting parents, not to mention grandparents! Miles and I are so happy that Eliza ended up with her high school sweetheart; Charlie's such a great guy and he fits right into our family. They have their own little house, with three bedrooms, and Eliza and Charlie had a great time planning Tilly's nursery and buying everything she needs.
Speaking of high school sweethearts, all five older kids are now in some form of serious relationship. Alex, who is now 20 and just returned from a year studying in Paris, has a girlfriend who is half-French, Fleur. She seems a nice girl, Alex was a little shy about us meeting her though! We never thought it would happen, but Madeleine and Felix are also both in relationships; Madeleine met Dexter Bailey last year and about two weeks later declared her undying love for him. They both took a year off between high school and university, Mads has been working in various different posts, and bought an apartment together with Felix and his girlfriend, Evie, who had done the same thing. The four of them get on really well; it's so nice that the twins are still good friends!
Charlotte and Mia also both have boyfriends, and although Mia gets through them like most people get through clean socks, she's been with Will for a while now; I think it's because he doesn't give in to her ways too easily. Charlotte has been with her boyfriend, Nate, for four months now, and they're adorable together. They're loving being the oldest in the house, and are training Milly up to be just like them.
It came as a total surprise when we found out I was pregnant again; we weren't at all prepared for something like that! Initially, Teddy, Jacob and Milly were all excited, but since Luca's arrival, Jacob and Milly have been getting very jealous. We never really had any jealousy problems with the others, but we're thinking it's because they've been the babies of the family for ten years. Teddy's also starting to become a little rebellious, although it's probably just his age, and Jacob appears to be following in his footsteps. Luckily, six months on, Milly is finally starting to come round, and is beginning to volunteer to help with Luca.
