It's official: the Llewellyn family has experienced a major baby boom within the past month.
Earlier this month, Kaden was drafted to play professional football for the New England Patriots. Less than a week later, Cecily gave birth to their second child, a boy they named Jack. Kaden told us that he's feeling "excited but overwhelmed" by everything that's happened. He and Cecily are planning on moving to the Boston area when Jack is a little older.
Only two weeks after we welcomed Jack into the family, Charlie and his wife Annemarie announced the arrival of their son Cainan Beckett. I guess little Cainan couldn't stand his cousin getting all the attention, because he was a month premature! Not to worry, though; he's perfectly healthy now and looks exactly like his dad!
Then four days ago Finn and his girlfriend Jordana introduced us to our fourth grandchild, Lila. When Jordana told Finn that she was going to have a baby, he was shocked, since they weren't planning on getting pregnant and his band had just signed a major record deal. Now, however, he says that his daughter is the best thing that's happened to him. I can tell she already has her daddy wrapped around her little finger!
Deacon just graduated from high school and is heading off to college in the fall. It's a little bittersweet for him: on one hand, he's going to the school he's had his heart set on since freshman year (UCLA), and on the other, it means he has to break up with his girlfriend at the end of the summer since she's going to NYU on the other side of the country. So for now he's spending as much time with her as he can; we hardly see him around the house anymore.
Sophie is a sophomore in high school and looking forward to getting her driver's license. She's been begging Christian and me for a car for her 16th birthday, but with a kid off to college and another one still in diapers, it's not likely she's going to get one.
We've been homeschooling Noah for the past couple of years, ever since he starting playing on a club soccer team. The sport takes up so much of his time that he was falling behind in regular school, even though he's pretty bright for his age. Now he's working at his own pace at a more advanced level (roughly eighth grade work)...and playing at an advanced level! He's such an exceptional soccer player that the league allowed him to move up an age bracket; now he's playing with kids as old as 15.
Our youngest, Heath, is in the midst of the Terrible Twos. He has so much energy and loves running around the house, usually getting hurt in the process. He's also gotten it into his head that walls are better art media than paper.
Anyway, it's now Christmas, and since our house is the only one big enough to accommodate the entire family, we had the celebration here. It was a great opportunity to catch up with everyone, and all the kids had fun hanging out with their siblings/cousins/nephews/nieces.

Any wishes? You can have two. (No, Sophie's car doesn't count)
Oh right, sorry...
I wish for...more grandkids but no multiples please.
