The Mackinley family has experienced a serious influx of babies! Over the last year, we've welcomed a total of 4 grandchildren to the family.
The least surprising news was that Eliza and Charlie were expecting again, and at the beginning of the year, she gave birth to another little girl, Daisy Gabrielle. Tilly absolutely loves her new baby sister, and so does her uncle Luca! Now that she's fully immersed into motherhood, Eliza wants just as big a family as the one she grew up in, and she would especially love a boy.
The next news that came was that Felix and Evie were getting married, and that Evie was expecting! We'd never thought Felix would get married this young, but it's clear that he and Evie are totally in love. It wasn't long after that, that Madeleine announced she was also pregnant, and our next two grandchildren arrived within a month of each other. Madeleine and Dexter are now the proud parents of a little girl, Kate Emily Octavia, or Kitty for short. Kate is after my middle name, Catherine, and Emily is after Evie, as it's her middle name. Felix and Evie had a boy, who is named Alfred Henry Milo, nickname Freddie. Again, Milo is after Miles, and Henry is Dexter's middle name. It's so nice that those four still get on so well, Mads and Evie are like best friends.
The last baby to arrive was another little boy! Fleur gave birth to little Oliver Augustin just over a month ago. Although they plan to stay living over here for the foreseeable future, they want Oliver and any other children they have to grow up speaking French.
In other news; Charlotte and Mia are both still with Nate and Will respectively, we wouldn't be at all surprised if they both went the same way as their siblings and married their high school sweethearts. Teddy now goes by Theo, and is finally coming out of his six-year-long rebellious stage; unfortunately, Jake and Milly are swiftly stepping into his space and are both being very difficult. Luca also is a complete handful; he's well into his terrible twos and throws tantrums at the drop of a hat. Everyone came to us for Christmas, which was great, but extremely chaotic! Of course, we wouldn't have it any other way, and we can't wait for next year, when hopefully the family will have expanded even more.
Given the amount of twins in our family, I would love to see multiples of grandchildren!
