I dislike all nns used as full names. Why not leave your child the choice to use a more "adult" version or a name or a different nn? Until then, you can still use the nn you prefer, what difference does it really make if there's a full name on the dotted line, even if it's almost never going to be used?
(this is not a personal attack, it's just my thoughts on the practice of using nns as full names)
As concerns Allie as such, I think it's a pretty nn for Alexandra, Alice etc.
