[Opinions] Petrova
I recently asked about Petrova on the Facts boards after long wondering its meaning (I love the novel Ballet Shoes) and found it was from the surname Petrov (son of Peter). Does this make it too surnamey? I'm normally against surnames without it being a family name, so I just wonder if using this would be slightly hypocritical. Maybe I just worry too much :)WDYT of the name in general?

I don't like surnames as first names. Petra is a nice alternative.

I don't like it at all. It is a feminine surname, not a first name. Do you like Petra?

Yes, it makes it much too surnamey. I would cringe if I met a little Petrova. Please don't use it as a first name.Petra is gorgeous, though.
