Savonia is a fairly peaceful nations after the last few centuries of military campains. Alfonso is a great patron of the arts and Savonia is enjoying a long awaited Renaissance. Alfonso's favourite pastime being music.
Savonia is only a small country but is landlocked between many greater, warlike ones who only have in recent years signed treaties and lived peacefully. Savonia's low rolling hills and green vallies are famous in the Southern counties and towards the North and West great mountains rise. The capital Benedetta is located to the bustling East where many of the larger towns are to be found.
The di Benedetti's have been ruling Savonia for about 500 years now after a civil war when Casimiro I declared himself the true king after assasinating the monarch, his cousin.
