This, for the first time in many generations was a love match. Young Juliana is a witty girl, charming but not beautiful. With no prospect of ever ruling her beloved country Aberqeuro (a small principality between France and Spain) she went against her parents wishes on a trip around the world. When Grand Duke Marcovic heard there was a visiting monarch, she was of course welcomed to the palace. Despite her being eighteen years his junior, they got married the following year. This enraged Juliana's parents, as they had always wanted to marry a family friend, a Scottish Lord. This led for Juliana to be banished from her country and no alliance was to be made, local legend tells Juliana's mother was offended by Grand Duke Marcovic at their royal wedding, and that was the final straw for Juliana and her family. Juliana was not received well by the Sokolov people at first, they had wanted their beloved monarch to marry one of their own people, Lady Helena of Trovitz II. Now, Juliana is a favourite.
Aberquero is not very well known, most people live in sleepy villages as it is still relies heavily on farming, they have very few factories and import most goods from various countries in Europe. They have a very large park of which they are very proud, and a huge festival held every year on the first day of Autumn.
