Finally...
After a failed courtship with local countess and distant relative Lady Katarina Archibald that left Emperor Friedrich III fretting terribly over the question of succession more than ever, he has at last found someone he is happy to spend the rest of his life with and with whom he feels he can produce a solid heir.
The neighbouring flat, mostly agricultural country of Voralia's royal family had also had a negative experience with Lady Archibald. It was their own Prince Leo whom Lady Archibald had shunned in favour of Friedrich III of Auttenburg, only for her to leave him within a year for a minor noble (shocking!). The split between Prince Leo and Lady Archibald had almost caused war between Voralia and Auttenburg, and only Friedrich's emergency coach journey to meet with Voralia's King Felix VII in order to smooth things over quelled the tension between the two countries who had once been firm allies during the time of the Old Empire.
It was during his stay in Voralia that Friedrich III of Auttenburg was introduced by Prince Leo to his youger sister Princess Cassandra. He was immediately besotted with her, Cassandra's beauty and wit far surpassing that of any bachelorette he had yet courted. She was likewise taken with him. Almost exactly a year later, following his split with Lady Archibald, Friedrich invited Cassandra to the Celestial Palace, an invitation she excitedly accepted.
They were married to great celebration a few weeks later, with a massive feast being held for the populace of the capital Trefal within the palace grounds. King Felix VII and Queen Amelia of Voralia and the entire von Østergaard family attended the wedding service at the Imperial Silver Hall of Kasar. The people of Auttenburg are as enamoured of their new Queen Regent as Friedrich III was when he first met her.
