No, no, no! Eliot (whatever spelling) is a boys name. I can't tell you how tired I am of hearing boys' names on girls. There are already more girls' names than boys'! Why do they now have to steal all the good ones from the guys?!

YuckI think it's tacky on a girl, sorry.
Yes, it is used as a girls name on Scrubs-- because her father wanted a boy.

Sure. I prefer it for a girl.I love Eliot on a girl, so much that I would never consider using it for a boy. I immediately think of George Eliot when I see it, so (for me) it's always had a very feminine vibe. "Scrubs" has a female Elliot who has given it a lot of exposure as a girl's name, so I don't think it would be seen as all that weird. FWIW, I've always thought Eliot as a girl's name is something of a no-brainer, with the obvious "Ellie" nickname and the similarity between its -ot ending and the girlish -ette ending. It won't surprise me a bit if we start seeing female Everetts, nn Evie, and female Emmetts, nn Emmy, for the same reason.

I think we already have.

Ehh, I think it sounds a bit too masculine. Sorry. And I prefer Elliott. It's a nice name.

I think it sounds fine on a girl

It could be used on a girl, just like any name could, but it doesn't mean that it should be. I dislike Eliot on a girl, there are so many names to choose from, and Eliot is masculine.

I've met a girl and a guy named Eliot. To me though, it will always be a guy's name.

It could and it is. A shame IMO.

It is used for a girl on the T.V. show, Scrubs. However, I much prefer it for a boy, and am sick of hearing of boy names on girls, seeing as girls have so many lovely names to chose from.

DittoNot that I like a lot of girls names, but I really like a lot of boy names, some have "completely" transitioned over, and others are on the move. I would love to use them, despite their female popularity, but a lot of daddies wouldn't dare because its now a "girls" name.
