*Note - I changed the spelling of one of my prince’s names (Prince Damien). I had Sebastian instead of Sebastien.
It’s been a long 15 years for the small island of Alterac. Many events happened, of the sad and happy varieties.
Firstly, Queen Emilia gave birth to a son, Prince Fabien. He died not long within 3 months of his birth, which shocked and horrified all of Alterac—it was so rare for anyone to die that young.
Within a year of Prince Fabien’s death, Queen Emilia and King Damien had another child, Princess Christiane. She looks just like the Queen, with lovely blonde hair and blue eyes. Upon her first birthday, she was not dead, and King Damien was very pleased. At the same time, the rest of the island’s youth was also not dead, and it was becoming very crowded. King Damien decided it was time to expand, and a very dangerous task began—building a bridge to the closest island.
The closest island was a pretty, uninhabited land that was much like Alterac, only a bit flatter (which meant there would be no need for ski lifts). It was about a mile away from Alterac, which meant that the bridge would have to be built right over the Bay of Biscay. It was a very difficult task indeed, and quite dangerous, but the good people of Alterac took the challenge with great stride. It took just over 3 years to build, and on the day after it opened, Queen Emilia gave birth to another son. King Damien, absolutely overcome with joy, gave the boy names with many happy meanings, such as Felix and Boniface (meaning “lucky, successful” and “good fate”, respectively).
Tragically, not long after the construction of the bridge, two terrible things happened. First, Princess Helena got very, very ill. She had the most peculiar case of measles—no one could cure her. Queen Emilia refused to leave her side for weeks, until poor Princess Helena finally passed away. This was a tragedy for the people of Alterac. Two deaths in the royal family was terrible, and seemed to foretell of more sadness for the small country. Queen Emilia was horribly distraught, and locked herself away in her bedroom for nearly a month, only emerging for Princess Helena’s funeral. The funeral itself was a grand affair—it was bigger than the movie nights. The only way a person could not come would be if they were on their own death bed (and no one was). Dear Princess Helena was very loved by all of Alterac, and is very deeply missed.
The second horrible thing to happen was the beautiful, newly built bridge collapsed, dropping hundreds of innocent people into the depths of the Bay. While the overpopulation problem was suddenly solved, this was a very dreadful time for this land. People mourned endlessly for their lost loved ones, and for the bridge many of them had worked so hard to create. King Damien turned that area into a memorial ground, and had another bridge built a bit further down. This one was professionally done, and made of steel.
Five years went by. The six remaining royal children lead their lives with as blissfully as possible. Prince Damien graduated Alterac’s Highest Hill Academy School and went off to travel the world. He came back with the woman he planned to marry, Katia Anushka Crina Margareta Kozlov, who was the grand duchess of Nordskovic. They married within a year, and got their own wing of the castle. King Damien promised him that if he lives to 75 and does not die (he shouldn’t, but this family seems to have terrible luck keeping people alive), he will step down and allow Prince Damien to be king.
Three years after Prince Damien and Katia married, Prince Julien graduated Highest Hill Academy school and also went off to travel (it’s a bit of a tradition, if you haven’t noticed). Apparently, he also visited Nordskovic, because he came back with Katia’s sister, Yelena Gabriela Boleslava Tatiana Kozlov. They too married within the year.
The same year as Prince Julien and Yelena’s marriage, Princess Lucienne graduated from HHAS. She too went off to travel, but did not come back with a boyfriend. A month after her return, a young man, John Samuele Cipriano di Laurentis, visited Alterac. (And the world falls still… an outsider in Alterac!) He and Lucienne fell in deeply in love and married within a few weeks. Just about one year later, Princess Lucienne gave birth to a little boy, Prince John Claude Nathaniel Florien Marcel Fabrice Robert di Laurentis. King Damien and Queen Emilia were overjoyed to meet their first grandchild.
Three days after Prince John Claude’s birth, Prince Damien and Katia welcomed their first child, of course named Prince Damien Gerard Romain Sebastien Luc Quentin Mathieu Lefebvre VI, for his father, and grandfather, and all the other Damien’s before them. He has the jet black hair all the Damien’s had, and deep brown eyes.
Princess Avril, not quite graduated from HHAS, was feeling a bit lonely at that point. She was closer in age to her older siblings, and they were now all married, and she didn’t seem to like spending with her younger siblings. Over her summer break, she went off to travel through Europe. She came back with a boy, Richard Felix Lorenz Johannes von Østergaard. They married before she started her last year of school, and are very excited to have children.
Princess Christiane and Prince Edgar are still both at HHAS. Princess Christiane is very social, and many boys at her school are after her. Prince Edgar is a quiet boy, and is very smart.
Lastly, just about a week ago, King Lukas Simon Noah David Nico Joel of Kasprzaski came to us. He is now very old and probably close to death. Because Queen Emilia is his only child, he has no heir, and he asked that Prince Julien come to Kasprzaski and be heir to his throne. Prince Julien and Yelena are now in the process of moving.
* You killed the princess with my favorite name. I’m sad now. :(
