15 long years have passed in the beachside paradise of Babinville. Though, for a while there it was not such a paradise.
Babinville's economy reached an all time high 15 years ago as the beaches became more popular than ever. Tourism sky-rocketed as visitors arrived from all over the world. Unfortunately, while the nation celebrated it's new status on the world stage, the infiltration of a dark blackmarket went unnoticed. Along with their popularity came gangs and mobs who all wanted to stake their claim on the potential the new 'party capital of the cosmos' embodied.
The Queen announced joyously that she was pregnant again, hoping that another royal birth would reunite the people, but it wasn't to be. When Prince Jean was born, the nation didn't rejoice, rather everyone seemed too anxious about their own well being to really care about the new Prince.
Not long after Prince Jean's birth, the queen discovered she was pregnant again, but like Prince Jean, Princess Angelita's birth was bearly recognised as Babinville became a very dark, seedy, place to live.
Tensions grew to such a point 13 years ago, that things became so dangerous in Babinville that it's people were afraid to leave their homes and the entire royal family secretly fled to Queen Mathilde's homeland of Boslia after mulitple death threats caused the nation to panic. However, the death threats were not unfounded. During their mission to flee, young Prince Jean, only 2 years old at the time, was kidnapped and held to ransom. The royal family were to hand over governing power of Babinville to the meanest crook in town, Don Pedro Ramirez, or the young prince would die. From their sanctuary in Boslia, the family deliberated, assured by their security personel that to give in to the demands was suicide for their country, and they'd do everything they could to get the young prince home safely. However, that was not to be. King Leopold made a statement that they had no intention of giving up power, and then an hour later Prince Jean's dead body was dumped at the palace gates.
Overwhelmed with intense guilt the royal family disappeared into the shadows as uncertainty about Babinville's future hounded them. The Princess Antonia was hardest hit by her young brother's death as she had played a large hand in assisting her mother to raise the young boy. Princess Antonia stopped eating and her once beautiful voice became silent. When a measles epidemic swept Boslia 12 years ago, the fragile Princess caught the disease and it quickly took her life too, though she passed out of life with a smile as she spoke her last words, "I shall be able to look after Jean again".
The death of a second member of the royal, a death that most directly connected to the first, after all, if the Prince hadn't died, then the Princess wouldn't have been so weak, and if she hadn't been so weak, then the sickness would not have taken her life. The people of Babinville grew angry, very angry, at all the things the gangs and mobs had robbed their once beautiful, happy country of, and then 12 years ago they revolted against the gangs. Most of Babinville's army and police force were corrupt by then, but those that weren't fought galantly. Boslia sent forces as well, as well as another country by the name of Auttenburg.
The war lasted a month, but eventually the evil underbelly of Babinville was forced out and peace could return to Babinville. The royal family returned and 9 months later the queen gave birth to another child, Prince Lucian. The people quickly named him 'The Child of Hope'.
Time passed and the royal family worked hard to rebuild their country, and as a thank you to the country of Auttenburg for their aid, King Leopold and Queen Mathilde promised the hand of their now eldest daughter, Princess Amelie, to Auttenburg's Prince Emil, heir to the throne. Amelie was perfectly thrilled with this arrangement as she'd taken quite a liking to the handsome Prince Emil as it was.
Before Amelie and Emil tied the knot another royal wedding took place. Crown Prince Tudor had always been intended to marry a distant cousin from Boslia, but after his schooling he travelled to strengthen his diplomancy skills. After a trip to the snowy land of Assendorp, Prince Tudor returned, begging his parents to cancel the arranged marriage as he'd fallen in love with Assendorp's Princess Valeska. After much consideration the arranged marriage was cancelled, and Prince Tudor married the woman he loved.
After Tudor and Valeska's wedding, Valeska moved to Babinville. Amelie and Emil married 6 months later when Amelie was just 16, and they returned to Auttenburg.
A few months passed and when Prince Philippe turned 18 the King and Queen turned their attention to finding him a suitable wife. They choose the Princess Violetta from Doloria and they were also soon married, Princess Violetta returning to Babinville with Philippe.
That year, two years ago now, something wonderful happened as Princess Valeska announced that she was pregnant, and then scarcely 2 months later Princess Amelie announced that she was also expecting. Both girls gave birth to baby boys, both the crown princes of their lands. Prince Augustin and Prince Joaquin are the treasures of their nations, but none love them as much as the people of Babinville.
Just 2 months ago the royal family celebrated another wedding. The union of Princess Adelina (the most beautiful girl that had ever lived most said) to the dashing Prince Bernard of Lazarra. As the younger siblings, Adelina and Bernard did not have to make a union of political importance, rather the two had been friends since meeting as children and that frienship blossomed into love. Both the people of Babinville and Lazarra expect great things from this, their favorite young royal couple.
