I don't think any of these names are dated. I know plenty of young children and babies still being named this, and nearly all my friends are either a
Lauren or a
Laura. If anything, I'd be worried about how common and overused it is. That I know of, there are 3
Laura's living on the same road as me.
Laurel is a nice alternative, and I've never met anyone called this. It's very pretty.
