Many heartbreaking events have occurred over the last five years in the twin islands of Alterac, beginning with King Damien’s death. It came as a shock to the whole nation, as it was predicted that he’d live past 100. Queen Emilia seemed to be unable to go on after losing both her eldest daughter and husband so soon, and she died not long after King Damien.
King Lukas of Kasprzaski also passed away, a bit before King Damien. Prince Julien, who had been selected as the heir to his throne, came to power (he is now called King Julien). Queen Yelena gave birth to a little girl, Princess Irina, who died just before her first birthday (the health of the people in Kasprzaski isn’t nearly as good as the people of Alterac’s). Another daughter, Princess Collette, was born soon afterward. She is now three, and King Julien is beginning to worry about having a male heir.
King Damien V (aka “The New King Damien”) has also received two daughters, both of whom are still alive. Princess Gigi is now 4, and Princess Charlotte is 2. Prince Damien (IV) is now in second grade at Alterac’s Highest Hill Academy School.
Princess Lucienne and her husband John have had another son, Prince Asher. He is four years old now. Their elder son, Prince John Claude is seven, and is also in second grade at HAAS.
Princess Avril is still married to Richard, and has yet to produce a child.
Princess Christiane graduated from HAAS last year, and is currently traveling the world. Everyone has the highest hopes that she’ll return with a husband.
Lastly, it turns out Prince Edgar, the quiet one, gets laid way more than Princess Christiane (hah, take that tabloids! You thought Princess Christiane would get pregnant first!). His mistress, Yvonne Babineaux, recently gave birth to a little boy, named after his father. There was a very long discussion about the fate of this little family, and it has been decided that Prince Edgar II will actually be considered a prince. He is currently number six in line.
(order of succession for Alterac: King Damien V -> Prince Damien VI (must be at least 15 to take the throne) -> Prince Edgar I -> Prince John Claude -> Prince Asher -> Prince Edgar II
