What a terrible web of lies and intrigue! I'm loving it, it's fun to write their history and know they don't have to be perfect all the time! :) I've put in bold all the changes I've made this round (including the title change of the monarch).

With the death of Emperor Benedikt III his son gains the throne and becomes Nikolai VII (Nikolai VI was Benedikt III's great-grandfather). Soon after Empress Irina died of consumption. Nikolai VII is a stronger man that his father having received good training from his mother. His brother Grand Duke Sevastian has been appointed the Emperor's chief adviser and is a great favorite. With all but his two youngest siblings married off Nikolai VII seemed to have his country under his thumb and to be regaining some of the respect his parents had lost until...

Scandal in Nordskovic! Grand Duke Dmitri, the youngest of the royal family had always been a great favorite of his mother Empress Irina and much pampered and spoiled. With the death of his father his mother indulged him even more and with the death of his mother the loss of the last person who could control him. It was a rumor unheeded by his brother that Dmitri had behaved unseemly to several of the ladies in waiting and young servant girls, unheeded because they deigned it. But soon it could no longer be concealed that Grand Duchess Danica's youngest lady in waiting Karina Emilia Rosendrich at the young age of fourteen was with child. When pressed she revealed the name of her baby's father and told of their undying love for one another. The scandal was hushed up as much as possible but soon the accusation reached Karina's parents who demanded immediate justice for their daughter.

Emperor Nickolai VII advised by his brother Grand Duke Sevastian packs Dmitri off to the army, sends Karina home to her family with a large annulment of hush money, replaced all of palace ladies in waiting and is trying to find a husband for his sister Danica now that her reputation has been all but destroyed.
