The beloved King, Grand Duke Ivan Marcovic IV has died, and distraught Juliana died of a heart attack three weeks later, trying to convince all the people she could that her husband was poisoned by political opponents. But Grand Prince Ivan is now been crowned King. He is much loved by his people, along with his stunning wife Mathilde who has bore him another son and a daughter. The coronation was astounding, and people from Cussia, Westenberg, Achterberg, and even Assendorp arrived. A huge festival took place, and was marked a new public holiday. It was the first day the three children were shown in public. They are the pride and joy of Sokolov and Westenberg, to which they are heirs.
Prince Konstantin is distraught. As a child, he was always closest to his father, and now he has lost him. He has no prospect of ever being King now his brother as two sons, and he will never rule Cussia, his wife’s country. His first born daughter died in infancy. He named her Benetta Theresa after his wife and favourite sister Lady Theresa. A year later he and his wife had another daughter, Adelina Christina, this time named for his beloved sister Adelina and his wife Christina. Lady Katharine refuses to speak to her brother Konstantin because he did not name a child after her even after she practically begged in front of the whole court (she is known to be very petty and spoilt young lady). She is getting very left out as of late, but she has been playing up too her oldest brother Grand Duke Ivan Gregory and his wife so he can find her a good match.
Even though it is Lady Katharine who has received the most discussions in court, it is the youngest child of the deceased ruler that has captured the public eye. He, in his distress of losing his parents so long and cry for attention, started to flirt with the beautiful lady in waiting to Lady Adelina. Her name is Baroness Isabella Marie Hallowes, a niece of Lady Helena of Trovitz II (http://www.behindthename.com/bb/view.php?id=3032886&board=game) who was supposed to marry the now deceased Grand Duke. Many people think it is a good match to the boy, but many think it disgusting that he should have had had a mistress, especially his own sisters servant. Lady Adelina, however, is trying to smuggle her younger brother out of the country with his mistress and son (who has been forbidden to take the royal surname Marcovic) out of the country to Assendorp where she and her husband currently reside. She was very close to her servant, and feels that they should be given a chance. The rest of the royal family are still making a decision, but tabloids rumour he will be forgiven. Grand Duke Ivan Gregory knows this whole affair could ruin his public image, as many (especially the younger generations) rather liked the roguish prince who played pranks on the members of courts, who was also dashingly handsome.
Lady Theresa was once again welcomed back to her home country, she wanted to introduce her new son Victor to her people. Lady Theresa however is not happy, her marriage with Thorsten is not going well. She married him in a crisis to help her people, and did not love him. Prince Konstantin has invited her to his palace if she divorces her husband, although she dutiful so this offer is likely to be declined. The tabloids have been following her closely, and are guessing her son Victor is son to a politician in Achterberg, though she swears she is faithful. Because of this conspiracy, she has refused to help her younger brother Frederick in case this gets her into further trouble, even though her sister Adelina was counting on her to help smuggle him out. Public favour may soon turn to Mathilde, Lady Theresa may not be the royal favourite for long, as she has been for many years.
