I've recently taken a liking to Kiefer ("KEE-fer") thanks to Caemlyn's signature =]. I just fear that it seems a little trendy. Wdyt? What are some good combos and nicknames?

I actually don't mind it, but I don't think I'd ever use it. If I did though, it would be as a mn. Kiefer is slightly trendy, thanks to Kiefer Sutherland being the famous Jack Bauer, but not too trendy that it isn't usable.

Kiefer is what you smoke out of a bong. Keifer is what you call the crystals off of marijuana buds. There's a radio DJ called Kiefer for the same reason.

I like it alright, must be because I'm canadian and actor Kiefer Sutherland is from here. I don't think it is popular or trendy

I don't think it's too trendy, it's not even that popular. I've only known one Kiefer, and his name was Kiefer Wyatt.

I must say though I don't care for it, maybe a related name like Keith would be better.

That's what i think of when i hear the world. i would never use it as a name.
But, perhaps i just run around in a fermenty-happy crowd.

I actually like it - I think the sound of it is quite cute. It does sound a little nickname-y to me, but that doesn't put me off it. I also don't think its trendy, but thats probably due to the fact that I've never met a Kiefer, or heard of one being born or anything.

I beg to differ with the previous posts. I don't think it's all that ugly, although it definitely brings to mind Kiefer Sutherland when I first hear the name and I'm sure those associations are going to keep coming up everytime someone else does too.

Maybe just a tad bit trendy, but I still like it. Perhaps you should use a traditional mn to even out the edges to it, though like:

I think it's supremely ugly and trendy, and the first syllable is dangerously close to "queef" in my mind.

May I interest you in Keith instead? :)

Keef is a good nickname.

I'm not big on Kiefer, because it makes me thi nk of the word heffer or reefer... yeah.

I would like it in the MN spot though.

Kiefer Grant comes to mind or Daniel Kiefer.
