[Opinions] Debranae and Layton
My aunt was telling me of a friend of hers, Debra, whose granddaughter is named Debranae. (I'm not sure of the spelling, I guess it could be Debrenee or Debranee.) The girl was named after her grandmothers, Debra and Renee (Ranae?)I think it's horrible. WDYT?Also, we met a little boy while camping last weekend named Layton.

Ick ick ick. Debranae has that tacky unoriginal let's-get-as-many-relatives-off-our-conscience-as-possible JonBenet flavor to it.Around here Layton is almost exclusively seen on old men. It's actually very popular for old, farmer-ish men in Delaware. There's a "bathroom book" about being a Delawarian, and after they give you the glossary of local terms "warshin' machine, rinsht, etc.) they have a silly little narrative told by a character who introduces himself as Layton Rodney Burton. Who has a miwfe Mer' Sue, and is mad at his neighbor because "he done barrid the paramour and took and busted it all to hell! And hima growed man!"Oh, lord, it's been so long since I've even thought of that and now I want to go through closets and see if we still have the book.Oh, also, it mentions that Margaret Ann, pronounced Margurdann, is extremely popular for ladies who are Layton's age. lol

Debra Renee would have been really nice, Debranae is terrible imo.I dislike Layton. I would prefer Lathan, but that's only because I have a friend named Lathan.

Debra Renee would have been refreshing and meaningful to see on a little girl. Debranee (or however she may spell it) is awful.I don't see the appeal in Layton at all, no decent nns, trendy, place/surname (well it sounds like it, no idea if it is or not) and it doesn't sound appealing either.
