[Opinions] Re: Evgenia

It reminds me of my Greek-American friend's mother's Greek name which is pronounced 'ehv-yeh-NEE-ah'. I'm thinking that Evgenia is an anglicised transcription of the Greek name.
I love it and I've told my friend's mother that I love her name, however, I must admit, I like the sound better than the anglicised transcription.
I do, though, like Eugenie and Eugenia more than Evgenia but not by much. Eugenie is probably my favourite just because I can't resist a name with an -ie ending. :)
As for nicknames, how about Evya ('EHV-yah')?
