[Opinions] Oscar
Right now I'm really liking this name. I really like the combo of Oscar Nathaniel (Nathaniel is my bf's brother's name; it's the only honoring name he really wants to use.)
Do you like this combo?
Any other combos?
What do you think about the name Oscar? Too old?
Does it go well with William Leland and Ophelia Mary?

I love Oscar. Oscar Nathaniel is quite nice though I don't particularly care for Nathaniel (but since it's an honouring name...). Oscar, William and Ophelia sound just lovely together. Some other combo ideas:

1. Yes, I think it is a fantastic combo. I like both names, and I think it has a nice balance.
2. Oscar Philip, Oscar Elliot, Oscar Henry
3. See above. No, I do not think it's too old, but then, look at my favorites list.
4. I don't really care if sets "match", so I think these are fine together.

I don't know why exactly, but I've always had this aversion to the name Oscar. It might have to do with Oscar the Grouch, even though I stopped liking Sesame Street when I was about 3 because I thought it was lame. I also just don't like the sound of it. But I suppose it's a perfectly fine name for someone else and Oscar Nathaniel is a nice sounding combo.
The combo is fine and it goes well with the other two.
But I really strongly dislike Oscar.

Oscar's nice, it has an antique sweetness to it that fits in quite well with William and Ophelia (and reminds me of my grandfather Oswaldo). Oscar Nathaniel is a very appealing combo.

I LOVE Oscar. Not sure I'd ever have the nerve to use it, as it is perceived as too old-fashioned by most non-name-nerds. :-/ But I still love it. I think Oscar Nathaniel is quite nice, and it's fine with William, but William is so overused and Oscar is more uncommon so it's a bit unbalanced to me. Leland & Oscar would be great, though. Ophelia & Oscar are too cutesy for me, but I love both names separately.
I wouldn't use Oscar myself, but I still really, really like it for someone else's child. Oscar Nathaniel is nice, and doesn't seem too old to me. I like how Oscar, Leland and Ophelia are all a little off the beaten path, and then Nathaniel, William and Mary are more classic, but they all fit nicely together.
I think Oscar is ok, but it reminds me a bit of Oscar the Grouch from Sesame Street lol. However, I really love the spelling Oskar. I connect it with Oskar Schindler, someone really quite honor-worthy, if I do say so myself.
I try to like Oscar, but I can't see it as any more than a cat's name (my cat's name, to be more specific), which is a shame. :( It really makes a fantastic people-name, though.
I do like the combo Oscar Nathaniel. Very handsome.

Do you like this combo? Yep, it's one of my Oscar combos too- I love Nathaniel for it's meaning
Any other combos? My other favourites are Oscar Leonidas, Oscar Theodore, Oscar Veritas, Oscar Moses
What do you think about the name Oscar? Too old? I think it's very spunky and not in the least bit too old- it's one of my top boys names.
Does it go well with William Leland and Ophelia Mary? Well enough, although I find William rather boring next to the others. However, I'm not the least bit fussed as to wether names go together or not.

I'm sort of tired of Nathaniel, but if it's special to your bf, go for it. I don't think there's anything wrong with Oscar except a few Grouch jokes.
Oscar goes very well with William and Ophelia. Very literary.
