[Opinions] Agatha
What do you think of the name Agatha?

I prefer Agnes
Agatha sounds like an elderly cranky lady. But this may be b/c in Swedish, Agatha rhymes with "ragata", which means "termagant".
I prefer Agnes, a name which is rather popular in Sweden.

love this name,pretty name
I think it's a very nice name, and I greatly prefer it to Agnes. I probably wouldn't use it though.

Because I adore Agatha Christie, I wish I could like this name! But to my ears, it's just very, very unattractive. Agnes or Gertrude style. Sorry :-(

i went to school with a girl named agatha, and since she was so pretty, it made the name more acceptable to me. she was half french and our french teacher always pronounced it that way- agata - which sounds nicer anyway.
I don't care for it at all. Sounds like an old lady name to me.
I really want to like this name. I like the way it looks on paper, but I just can't bring myself to like the sound of it.
