Welcome to round one of Darkest’s Congrats. For this round, you each have a random event you need to make a decision and write about. Some of them are serious and could result in a divorce, and some are just random life stuff. Whatever it is, you’ll need to write, write, write. (Yes, this means you are allowed to get a divorce, kill people off, whatever.)
You’ll also need to write about the birth or adoption of your new baby/babies. This writing is a MUST for each round; you only get one pass before it counts as an incomplete round. This is a writing congrats game, so write, write, write!

Jenn is of German descent and really wants to adopt a baby from Germany. Kevin thinks that they should try locally. After looking at odds and costs, they decide to try locally first, because they won't have to travel overseas multiple times to get the baby. If their attempts fail locally, then they'll try adopting internationally.

Ray and Lydia were expecting one daughter, but they found out differently at birth. They already had the name decided for their first daughter. At first, Ray and Lydia could not come up with a second name. With some quick thinking, they decided to name their second daughter after Ray's aunt, Caroline Rose. They are very thankful to God for the gift of two wonderful daughters.

We recently found a newborn baby girl on our front doorstep, with a note saying that she belonged to Evan. This was quite a shock, and I was extremely upset with Evan and we had a very rough few weeks. Evan constantly denied that the baby was his, that he never did anything of the sort. We went to the police station to see if anyone had reported a missing baby anywhere, and found that there had been a case of a missing baby girl, matching the baby's description. It turned out that her name was Rachel Sanders, and her father's name was Evan Sanders, but the last name was not exactly the same as ours. Rachel was returned to her home and her mother and father were extremely grateful for her return. We are still unsure of why she ended up on our doorstep, but we are just happy that she is safe and sound.
Evan and I also recently welcomed our newborn triplets into the world - 2 girls, and one boy - on December 8. We named the babies Evan Matthew, Grace Olivia, and Anna Caroline (Evan, Gracie, and Annie). They are fraternal (thank God!). Little Evan has big, blue eyes, dark brown hair, and a beautiful smile. He looks just like his father. Gracie has green eyes and dark brown hair, she started laughing a week after we brought her home from the hospital and laughs every time you tickle her! Annie has blue eyes like Evan and a full head of dark brown hair. She has an adorable smile and love being played with. We are very excited about the future years with babies Evan, Gracie, and Annie.

Let's see. Okay. Professions.
Dave travels all over the world, filming documentaries full of daring social commentary. He was born in England, but after he and Antonia were married both of them went to America where he began work on a documentary about urban poverty. Antonia is a political journalist who contributes regularly, under a mysterious pen name, to important publications.
Maria Claudia Angelina was born a little after a year into Dave and Antonia's marriage. Um. It went well, I guess? Less than a week after Maria's birth, Dave's mother Sue died of breast cancer, and the revised family flew into England to witness her burial. Later, Dave remarked slightly bitterly that Sue's death "couldn't have come at a better time," as Antonia had never met much of Dave's family and they probably wouldn't have gotten around to introducing Maria to them for several years.
Dave was never close with his parents Sue and Frank--not hostile, but never close. They were simple people who didn't care to think very hard about anything, but they had produced four quick-minded and curious children, three of whom were in attendance. Their daughter Shanie (eight years Dave's senior) had flown in from Michigan, where she was married to the great-great-great (however many) grandson of the man who invented the Bessemer process and comfortably stepped into the world of upper-middle-class America, despite her teaching middle school in a disadvantaged district. Her husband Michael and children Ethan, Alex, and Matt accompanied her. Dave's youngest brother, Martin, was 14, and showing signs of frightening analytical brilliance. He was born a few days before Johnpaul, Dave's childhood hero and older brother of two years, died in a boating accident. This unfortunate coincidence permanently distanced Sue and Frank from their remaining children and forged an extremely close bond between said children.
Also in attendance were Frank's brother Harry and his wife Ophelia. No one knew where any of Sue's family were to contact them--in Georgia somewhere, presumably.

Rob and I sat down and had a talk with both our mothers, explaining that our children was going to have these names for life and we really would feel happier not using Terri Suzanne or Rhonda Jane. As a compromise, we gave them a shortlist of our favourite names, and when the triplets were born (finally, after an exhausting labour!), the grandmothers were allowed to pick the names they felt were most suitable. The triplets already have personalities of their own - Rose is the quiet one, Faye the boisterous one, and Simon just seems content. It is a lot of work with three of them but we wouldn't change them for the world!

Both of the grandmothers are insisting that the first child be named after them, but you both absolutely hate both of their names: Terri Suzanne and Rhonda Jane. How do you compromise without insulting your mothers? (You may ignore the naming rules for this round if you choose to honor.)
Rob and I sat down and had a talk with both our mothers, explaining that our children was going to have these names for life and we really would feel happier not using Terri Suzanne or Rhonda Jane. As a compromise, we gave them a shortlist of our favourite names, and when the triplets were born (finally, after an exhausting labour!), the grandmothers were allowed to pick the names they felt were most suitable. The triplets already have personalities of their own - Rose is the quiet one, Faye the boisterous one, and Simon just seems content. It is a lot of work with three of them but we wouldn't change them for the world!

Well, Georgiana rushed to the emergency room to see Rainer. She stayed with Rainer the next week in the hospital. Rainer told Georgiana how sorry he was, but even through Rainer might die Georgiana could not forgive him. Amazing, Rainer lived. But Georgiana told him that she just could not forget and forgive. So she filed for divorce later that month. Rainer tried and tried, but it did not work. Rainer does now remember what happened. He old crush was in town one day when Georgiana wasn't and Rainer asked he over just to say hi, but one thing lent to another and now they had Marshall. Rainer was so upset that he didn't want to live, so killed himself.
Georgiana is very upset and doesn't know what is going to happen. She kept Marshall and is going to raise him and Stella herself, but she as moved in with her sister and brother-in-law. She cares for Marshall very much, and she does miss Rainer.
Hope it is okay that they divorce and someone died. I was having to much fun with this crazy family.

(I've decided to write from the first person perspective instead of the third)
I've had a relationship with Ruslan for a little over a year now. The age difference still feels a bit weird to me, but I've gotten used to it for the most part. I even got used to the raised eyebrows of other people when I tell them his age. Ruslan got into a huge fight about two months after we made our relationship official. He had had fights with his father before, but this time it had gotten so bad that he decided it was time to leave there. He told me needed a place to stay and asked if he could move in with me. I was shocked about his request, because I had no intention at that time to have him live with me. I did see the urgency of the situation and I felt I just couldn't hurt his feelings, so I said it was okay.
Two months after that I discovered I was pregnant. It was absolutely not planned (we had taken measured to avoid this), and I wasn't happy with it in the beginning. After I had told Ruslan, I felt a bit better. He was cautiously excited about it. After we talked about our options, we decided to keep the baby. Ruslan dropped out of school and got a job (even though I begged him to complete his education). He's working as a construction worker now, because he knew someone there who could get him a job fast. I'm happy that he took his responsibility serious, part of me still expected a more adolescent reaction out of him.
When we found out it was a girl, we made the big mistake of sharing that information with the rest of the family. Both of my grandmothers hinted that it would be really nice if the little girl would be named after them.

William, our parents, and I reached a compromise. We are going to name the each babies' first name after one of the grandparents' first name but only the first letter. For the babies middle names, the names will be the other grandparent of the babies gender's whole first name. We drew lots and the girl got Beverly, B and Stephanie. Our girl is going to be Elizabeth Stephanie, with the nickname Bess, Beth, or Bessie but not Lizzy, Libby, etc. Our son is John from Jerry Rodney. Although, we are not thirlled on the middle names, we had to reach a compromise.
Come celebrate our first two miracles! On December 1st, we had boy and girl twins, luckily very healthy!

Simon’s mother has died, and the funeral is on the other side of the country. How do you get there? Was Simon close to his mother? How many family members were at the funeral?
Simon and Lucy were blessed with the arrival of their first son Forrest Reid. Forrest is the first grandchild on both sides and everyone was so excited. Both Grandmothers were in the room for his birth. Simon and Lucy didn't know the sex of the baby and everyone was guessing girl, but they were all pleasantly surprised when it was boy. Both Grandma's stayed with Lucy for a week and helped her with Forrest. Lucy was happy for the help, but was also happy when they left and things could quite down a little.
Sadly, when Forrest was 6 weeks old, Simon's mother Elizabeth was killed in a car crash in Simon's hometown of Seattle. Simon was so glad that she had been in New York for the birth of Forrest and got to actually hold her grandson before she died. Simon was extremely close to his mother and took her death very hard. Simon, Lucy and Forrest flew out as soon as they got the phone call from Simon's sister Eloise. Elizabeth was a much loved member of her community and the funeral was very large. Hundreds of people attended her wake and the church was full for her funeral the next day. Simon's father had died 5 years earlier and now it's just Simon and Eloise left.

You can’t decide what to get one another for Christmas! How do you decide?
Patrick and Ella had a hard time finding each other gifts this Christmas. With the girls c-section scheduled just before Christmas (December 20th), alot had to be done before their arrival. The girls were born 2 minutes apart and were both very healthy. They were even able to come home for Christmas! Much to Ella's surprise, on Christmas eve Patrick had went out and bought her a gift. She didn't expect anything and hadn't had time to get him anything. But there it was, under the tree they put up last minute, it was a little box with a bow. When Ella opened it, she was even more surprised. Inside the box was the most beautiful bracelet she had ever seen. It was a charm bracelet and there was 3 charms on it already. We had twin girls! They were born five weeks too early and were named Nora June and Rose Mahala. Rose is doing well, but we were worried about NoraJune. Once they got over the initial shock, Paula and Jackie accepted the situation as a blessing and a challenge. With triplets on the way, they had to focus on all they had to do to prepare; including names...

While Paula and Jackie strongly disliked all of these names- they felt it important to honor their mothers in the names of their children. The boys were named using their mothers' initials- EB and AE. Maya was named for Jackie's sister. Edith and Agnes are both satisfied with this arrangment.
At this time, the 3 new additions to the Craige-Widells are settling in just fine. They are 2 weeks old, each with a dusting of light brown hair. Everything is going very well for the whole family.

Albert and Pearl wanted to have big family but they wanted to wait awile before they start a family.But sometimes things don't go has plan.Six months after being married Pearl found out she was expecting a baby.She did not know how Albert would react.So she bought a card that said you going to be dad .She made special dinner .When Albert came home from work he saw the card on the table.He was shocked but he was happy.He said everything happen for reason.That they were meant to start a family now then later.Pearl was so happy that he was happy too. But more surprizes were on the way. Pearl never been pregrant before but she knew this pregrancy was different.She was very sick with morning sickness.The ob notice even when she was sick that she was measuring farther along then what she was.He did a ultrasound and found out that there were 3 babies.Pearl and Albert were shock and happy.They told the families the great news.Pearl was put on bed rest at 18 weeks. Also at 18 weeks she found out she was having 2 girls and boy. It was very hard to be on bed rest.Their family helped as much could.At 27 weeks she was hospitalized so they could montoir the babies and try keep them in longer.Pearl went in labor at 33 weeks and the babies were delivered by c -section.They were all healthy but their weight was low. Olivia was born first weighing 31b 14oz,then Grace weighing 3lb and 4 oz and smallest was Joel weighing 2lb and 10 oz. Now grandmothers wanted girls named after them.Albert and Pearl really did not like the names but decide to use it as middle name instead.Grandmother was happy that they use their names even if it is a middle name.The babies had to go to NICU.The babies were so small but they had no medical problems so far that could see.Pearl went home 3 days after the birth.She has to recover from her c section.But she comes everyday to see the babies.Albert too.The families had the baby shower for Pearl and she got so many things.

Wil and Lydia have had an eventful year. Lydia has temporarily stopped working because the Thompson's have welcomed twins! They are identical boys named Matthew Rowan and John Quentin. Matt and Jack are laid back and don't really require a lot of care. They like to be together and basically live on the same schedule. They are very in tune with each other. Wil and Lydia are excited about how the boys will grow up.
Three months before the boys were born, Wil decided that they needed a larger TV than the one that they had. He went to Best Buy and bought a moderately sized wide-screen TV and brought it home to surprise Lydia. Lydia wasn't too happy about it at first, but does admit that she likes the bigger and better picture they get on the new TV.

Cata was shocked when she found out she was pregnant, and it took her a while to accept it. She was exceptionally short-tempered the first few months of her pregnancy, and at one point she got sick of Daniel's attempts to console her and threw him out of the house. I can't keep her. - Anna." Daniel pretty much went into shock, and Cata went outside to see what was wrong. She read the note, took the baby into the house, went back outside, and smacked her husband across the face. Daniel just stood there, staring at her, so she pulled him into the house and shoved him onto the couch. She demanded he tell her everything, and he mechanically did as she said. When he was done talking, Cata rolled her eyes and said she guessed one more wouldn't make a difference. By that time, Daniel was beginning to come out of his shocked state, and that comment sent him right back into it. Cata sighed and told him she was furious, but the children were more important and she couldn't care for all three of her own children without his help.
