I prefer it pronounced LAWR-el. I prefer the names Laura and Laure to Laurel, but I prefer Laurel to Lauren.

I prefer Laura too, but..
My sister's middle name is Laura. And Half-sister's middle names are Lauren and Lorraine. So, I'm left with Laurel =)
