I love Galen (for a boy), but the Gail sound bothers me and I worry about it sounding feminine, or him being teased for having "gay" in his name. I don't know why Galen sounds to me more likely to be teased than Gabriel, though (maybe just because Gabriel is more common). Galand is not wise, though. Perhaps as a mn, esp. if it's a family name/surname. But I can't help but see "Gay Land". So it's up there with Gaylord, imo.
