Welcome to Round 4.
The year is now 1920 (aka, the beginning of the Roaring Twenties, the Jazz Age, or the Golden Twenties). Another 5 years have gone by, and once again, you can add as many or as few members to your family as you like, and, again, even take some away. Most of you should have your eldest children to the point where they can have their own families, so think of that.
Things worth mentioning:
-Caitlin, Hehehe, Mithos and Sara Drake have all missed passed last round, and maybe the round before it. You can catch up if you like, drop now, or just pretend you couldn’t have kids for a few years.
-Avalon_Dreams deserves a round of applause. She has the largest family, having 19 children in 15 years, and has successfully shown the Duggar family who’s boss.
-Lemmingade also deserves a round of applause (or tears). She currently holds the record for killing the most people in one round (she killed seven family members last round, bringing her family total to two people).
-The US got into World War I three years ago.

Welcome to Round 4.
The year is now 1920 (aka, the beginning of the Roaring Twenties, the Jazz Age, or the Golden Twenties). Another 5 years have gone by, and once again, you can add as many or as few members to your family as you like, and, again, even take some away. Most of you should have your eldest children to the point where they can have their own families, so think of that.
Things worth mentioning:
-Caitlin, Hehehe, Mithos and Sara Drake have all missed passed last round, and maybe the round before it. You can catch up if you like, drop now, or just pretend you couldn’t have kids for a few years.

The Bartlett family has been busy for five years.
Jack, 45, did not enlist as a medic in WWI, but has been extremely busy helping his assistant, Jacob, to expand the practice. Jacob is moving to Massachusetts to marry his sweetheart and he plans to open up a doctor’s office there. Jack is planning to retire within the next 10 years and have Jonny take over his practice.
Mary, 42, is raising her children to be happy, healthy, and self-sufficient. She is rather nondescript and spends nearly all of her time taking care of her children or someone in town.
Jonny, 20, is away at school studying to become a full-fledged doctor. He has three years left, then will return and work under his father until Jack retires.
Matt, 19, has developed an interest in carpentry and is now pursuing his interest by setting up his own business. He makes furniture, toys, and miscellaneous other objects for his clients. Matt was the first of the Bartlett children to get married. He married his high school sweetheart, Marie Odenton. Marie is now teaching, but the couple is expecting their first child in a few months.
Lily, 17, has really matured over the past few years. She married Joseph Ansel Martin last summer. Joseph is a store owner and owns a mercantile. Our dear son, Lawrence at age 4 was just dionosed with polio. He has a wheelchair now. We feel so bad for him. The children and us are trying to help him. Beside Bess, Elle and Victoria take care of Lawrence the most!
A couple of days ago, Elizabeth Montgomery, wife of James Montgomery, gave birth to a daughter, Emma Jane. This is their ninth child that is still alive. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. James Montgomery!
William Johnson Montgomery, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Montgomery died this month fighting for our country in World War I. We send our regrets to the Montgomerys on their lost. William Montgomery was a great man, rising in ranks in the military.
Here is an update on the rest of the children:
Teddy is going to the College of William and Mary in Virginia. He mourns for his only older brother. Although, Teddy is so smart...he spends more time in sports than acedemics.
Victoria is getting courted right now to a 18 year old named Jack. The two are so wonderful together. Victoria is so manerly and womenly.
The twins are almost complete opposites in thinking because Ginny is so happy to be able to vote! She cannot wait to she is 18. She is sorry that her mother had to wait this long to vote.
Henry Zachary is starting to take his constant talking into story telling. He is starting to write stories down,but still is the talker of the family!
Elle is a sweet twelve year old. She has so much patience. She is accomplished at piano playing and I (the mother) love to hear her as do many people.
Oh, Lillie. It is a competation between her and Henry to talk. Lillie loves acting.

Two years ago Anna gave birth to quads. Jesse, Violet, Tony, and Esther. Anna and Jesse both died. But, Violet, Tony, and Esther were okay. Of course the whole family was upset about losing Anna and Jesse. George is now left with raising three babies by himself, plus the other 11 children. Well, missing some children. Gemma amd Rosie and Georgie were to help with Violet, Tony, and Esther. Gemma was to watch Tony, Rosie with Esther, and Georgie was to help with Violet.
Harry sadly died two years ago in the war. He was only 18. Sadly one year before he left he married Laura Harvard. And later that year they had a daughter, Sarah. Now Laura and Sarah are with a husband and a father. Laura and Sarah are staying with us, at least for a while.
Happlier new Evie has wed Henry Nichols, 2 years agos. They have two children, David age 18 months and baby Annie who is only 2 months. Evie and Henry are doing quite well. Henry works as a store keeper. He does well, there. Somedays Evie will go and see him, but she is very traditional and doesn't think that women should work. Evie and Henry hope to have many more children. Has Evie has just found out that she will have another children in about 8 and half months.

Our family has undergone some major changes in recent years.
One day about four years ago, Elijah, Kathryn, and Max were playing outside when a snowstorm came up out of nowhere. Being small children, they remained outside to play in the snow. Within minutes, the visibility was completely gone. Everything was white. Daniel went out to look for them, but he simply couldn't find them. He probably walked right past them several times without seeing or hearing them. He continued searching until the blizzard ended over twelve hours later. Eventually he found them, but it was too late. Max and Kathryn had already frozen to death, and Elijah died less than an hour later with his family gathered around. After that, we moved into town, unable to bear the memory of such a tragedy.
Two years ago, Nathan married a young woman he met in school, Adele Lucas. Alden Jedediah Greywood was born thirteen months ago. He is a healthy and energetic child, and the young couple has their hands full with him. A week ago, Adele gave birth to twins, Henry and Elijah. They are both healthy and strong.

During the past five years a lot of things have happened. Two years ago Charlotte had twin girls but they both died only one day old. They were born one months early and were very weak. Charlotte had hoped for girls and was devastated when they died. She partly blamed herself for Anna and Maria's death and never really recovered. Only a few months later Charlotte got sick and many believed that she didn't want to get well again. She joined her twin girls in the beginning of December 1918.
Alexander Lucas participated in the WWI but only during a few months. He was severely injured and lost his left arm. He was sent back home but was traumatized. A young girl named Alice Grace made him enjoy life again. They are now engaged and so is Alexander's younger brother August James.

Paul was sent to Europe right after the US entered World War I. Flo was five months pregnant. On July 20 1917, while Flo was giving birth to her seventh child, a telegram arrived stating that Paul had died about a month before. The older children, Daisy, Rose and Lily, decided to wait until the baby was born to inform their mother and the younger children, who were still asleep. When their aunt Emma came downstairs carrying a laughing baby boy, stating his name as Spencer, the girls went solemnly to their mother and handed her the telegram.
The boy was renamed Isaac Spencer, because Isaac had been Paul's favorite name, and Isaac meant "he laughs".
It took the Patch family a while to recover, but they were doing better and Flo was looking after the children and the farm. Then, in 1918, Lily fell sick from the Spanish Flu. She got very sick and died. The whole family was devastated, but luckily, nobody else in the family got sick.
Daisy, meanwhile, was a pretty 18 year old who was very well liked. She had many admirers, but she fell in love with Barnabas Sinclair, the son of the minister in town. Barney was a very religious man and they were married shortly afterwards. Daisy gave birth to a baby boy, Moses Jefferson.

Ruby Iris was left to raise her infant brother alone after the tragic deaths of her parents and five sisters in 1916. Since she was
a pretty sixteen year old struggling to run the family farm, it seemed to the town elders that the best solution would be for her to marry an eligible bachelor, as quickly as possible so that he could run the farm with her help, while providing a father figure for David Jr., who would reclaim the farm when he was of age.
Unfortunately, it was already too late for things to be that simple.
Just once, Ruby Iris, struggling with grief and anxiety, had given into temptation while she was comforted by a neighboring farm boy, Bryce Miller. Raised as a devout Baptist and horrified at what she had done, Ruby told him that they must not fall into temptation again. In a fit of anger and frustration, Bryce ran away from her and his family to become a soldier.
Only a few weeks later, Ruby realized she was pregnant. She was at the Millers' farm explaining the situation when a telegram arrived.
Bryce Miller, 16, was one of the first American casualties of the war. In 1917, with the help of a midwife, Ruby gave birth to their daughter, Mary Rose.
Now at 20, Ruby Iris is trying to run a farm and raise two children, one considered a bastard, alone.

Henry & Elizabeth O'Leary are pleased to annouce the engagement of their daughter Helen Frances to John Edmund Fitzpatrick, son of Mr. and Mrs. William J. Fitzpatrick. A June 1921 wedding is planned.
Paul Henry O'Leary was killed while training in the US Army in a freak handgranade mishap, on October 5, 1920. Paul was the son of Henry and Elizabeth O'Leary. He is also survived by brothers Ray, John, Oscar and Warren and sisters Helen, Ruth, Mary Alice, Betty and Hazel. Paul was predeced by a brother Leo.

After the United States entered the Great War in 1917, Jack couldn't wait to turn eighteen so he could enlist. He married his childhood sweetheart Emma Dunne shortly after his seventeenth birthday, with the expectation that he would be in the Army the next year and might not have the chance to get married at all. Jack shipped off in August 1918, five months after his wife found out she was pregnant. Emma gave birth to a healthy baby boy in October and named him William, after Jack's father. Jack was wounded in battle and sent home in November, just before the armistice was signed. He and Emma recently welcomed another son, Alexander.
Charlie is recently engaged to Nora Dunne, the youngest daughter of a prominent and wealthy physician. Both families were in an uproar when Nora was discovered to be with child; the wedding is set to happen as soon as possible.
