[Opinions] Callie
Someday when I have my first daughter I would like to name her Callie after my mom, Kelly, but I feel like the spelling Kally would be better. The only problem is, does Kally look stupid? Would people always get confused on how to pronounce it? TIA!!

I don't know...I don't really like "Kally". I agree with Seda - call her Kellie/Kelly or Callie/Kallie...but I don't suggest mixing the two. I like Callie when it's short for Calanthe, but I also like it when it's short for Callista or Calliope. ~lavender

Callista or Calliope are lovely too...*pro-life*

I love Callie (I'd use it as a nn for Calanthe / Calantha / Calanthia), but spelling it Kally is not anything I advise. I have many Kelly/Kelley/Kellie's in my life so the name has many good associations for me, but if I saw Kally I'd probably assume it was a typoed Kelly. If I was going to name after Kelly, I'd personally use Kelia (keh-LYE-ah), but if you're set on Callie spell it as Callie or Kallie to save the name and you're daughter or just use Kelly / Kellie.-Seda*

Kally looks ugly. Stick with Callie...the sound is close enough. Or try Kallie, which still isn't as good as Callie.

I would know how to pronounce Kally, but I don't like it. I agree with Ylva when she said it looked like a misspelt Kelly. Callie looks so much better and is such a nice name. I don't think it needs to be a nn for something else but if it was then Caroline is perfect to me.

I like Callie, both as a formal name and as a nn (for Calista, Caroline, Camilla etc). I think Callie or Kelly is better than Kally. Kally looks like a misspelt Kelly to me. I don't pronounce Callie and Kelly the same way, since I don't pronounce A and E the same way. But obviously you do?"You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed."

Sorry, but imo Kally does look confusing and misspelled. Kallie is a bit better, especially is it were a nn for Kallista or Kalypso.
