David and I have been talking about our dream house since we first started dating, so buidling our home has been such an exciting (and often stressful) process! Things took a lot longer than we expected, especially because we did a majority of the work ourselves. We finally only recently were able to move in, and not a moment too soon..
.. seeing as our first child, Deacon Ross Abbey, came a little ahead of schedule! Being a nurse, it was strange for me to be on the other side, to actually be the patient this time around. And I was so nervous, thinking of all of the "what-ifs" and every way things could go wrong.. but Deacon was born strong and healthy, 5 lbs 6 ounces. A little early, but otherwise okay. :) While we were in the hospital, David was home, rushing to get the nursery finished in time, but he managed! We stuck with a blue/truck motif.. fairly traditional and boring, but I love the windowseat that David built in for me!
