[Opinions] Jonquil
Lately, I have been diggin' Jonquil. I'm not sure why. WDYT? I worry that since it starts with "Jon" that its not sufficiently feminine, but on the other hand its so pretty.

I don't mind it at all. I do prefer it for a mn, because I think it's a little unusual for a fn.
It's absolutely gorgeous - no?
It's not my real name, but I knew a Jonquil when I was a student, the only Jonquil I've ever known or even heard of. She was petite, brunette, and - in contrast to the jeans and sweater set - always very fashionable from head to toe, and her name (and the sophisticated image she presented) have always stuck in my mind. The name intrigued me. I thought it would be suitable for a baby born on the cusp of winter/spring as the pretty jonquil flowers are blooming. Also, it could "honour" a grandparent called Jon/John.

I don't find it appealing in sound.
Jonquil - pleasant sounding and unique. I like it!
It's a fun name; I like it. I don't think the "jon" syllable is a problem. Flowers carry enough sufficiently feminine imagery on their own.
Love it.
I too wonder why I like it, given the "jon-" part. Perhaps it the "root for the underdog" in me, but I find it strangely appealing.
Jonquil is an acquired taste. With names like that, once you do like them, you're not likely to lose the attraction easily.
It might make a neat way to honor a John in the family.

Oddly enough, I don't have a single John in my family, lol. :-) I think I'm the only one.
I think it's cute.
Very you, very spunky, and unusual without being totally out there. Jonquil and Nasrin would be adorable twins.

I know, right!
Jonquil & Nesrin would be adoreable sibling names.
