It's kind of cute, but 'seems' made-up. I read of a soap opera actor years ago who had daughters named Jera (JAIR-ah) and Reign. :-/ I just hope Reign's mn isn't Dear, hehe.

I just heard this name for the first time, too, but on the Baby Name Wizard blog, not on a person. I think it should be pronounced YAIR-uh. Is that how the girl you met pronounced it? I prefer it on a boy, but only because it reminds me of the male Jorma (YOR-muh) I know.
