Sienabut making the choice depends, at least partly, on whether you're acknowledging the city of Siena or the color sienna (though the color derives from the city's reddish clay). For me personally, it's the city, because it's a roundabout nod to St. Catherine of Siena, who is my patron saint.

I prefer the spelling Sienna, even though I know the place name is Siena. Siena Mia is alright.

I really like Siena (after the city, which is one of my favorite places I've ever been). I don't really like Mia with it because "my Siena" is a bit much to me. My aunt and uncle did that for my cousin's name (also a place name) and I wished they had gone with something else, especially when my cousin will be going to school in Italy.

Siena, after the Italian town. Sienna always makes me think of my orangey brown Crayola crayon I had in first grade. Siena Mia is nice, but it does makes me think automatically, "my Siena." This is not a bad thing. It's quite a lovely thought if your are Italian. But it is distracting to my brain. I'm not thinking about a name so much as a phrase. But I'm a name nerd so I'm being picky.
