Lucas is now 15 and a sophomore in high school. He's such a typical boy: obsessed with girls, sports, and cars. And it's easy to see why! For starters, he has a girlfriend named Hannah, who's a freshman. They've been going out for almost two months now, and he's absolutely smitten with her. Of course, it's his first serious relationship, so we'll just see how it goes. Secondly, he's just been named starting quarterback of the JV football team at his school! He's so excited, but plans to start working out more so he can bulk up and make varsity next year. And lastly, being fifteen, Lucas is looking forward to the day when he can start driving. He's already been begging us for a car, and he hasn't even been behind the wheel yet!
Evie is seriously thirteen going on thirty. She's very mature and responsible for her age, which is probably because she has two younger sisters. She's always willing to help out around the house -- babysit and whatnot -- which is incredible because she still manages to be a straight-A student! She loves art and is always sketching something or snapping a photograph or splashing paint on an easel. Evie just confessed to me that she's gotten a bit of a crush on a boy in her class, but her father has forbidden her from dating until at least 10th grade (like Lucas).
Ella is our ten-year-old and is in the fifth grade. She is so outgoing and will strike up a conversation with just about anyone she meets. She's also very into sports and plays club softball and soccer (and now wants to take up volleyball!). Being in the very middle, she sometimes acts up for attention, but is usually pretty mellow and takes things in stride.
Chloe is eight years old and in the fourth grade (she skipped kindergarten because she already knew how to read and write perfectly). Unlike Ella, Chloe is incredibly shy and has a hard time meeting new people. She has one very good friend at school, a boy named Ethan, who's actually our next-door neighbor as well. The two of them are inseparable. Chloe loves reading and goes through at least three books a week...I don't ever know what I'm going to find her immersed in next!
Jet was a bit of a surprise, actually! After Chloe, Christian and I had decided that four kids was enough, but I guess Mother Nature had other plans. When Chloe was 3 1/2, we found out I was expecting again. Right away, Lucas started praying for a boy; he loves his sisters, but he's been wanting a brother for a while! Jet is a lovely little boy; he's taken after Lucas in that he loves being outside and LOVES football even more (plus, he idolizes his big brother), but he can also be so sweet and says "I love you" all the time to us. Jet is such a wonderful addition to our family and none of us can imagine life without him.
