Help[Opinions] Kylie
DH and I both agree that Kylie and Kailee/Kaile(Kai Lee, not Kaylee) are prn'd differently. We much prefer the Kai prn to the Ky, but we can't quite put into words what the difference is.
If you pronounce them differently, can you offer some help? Also, we would definitely use the "Kai" spelling, so what "lee" ending do you think looks best? (Please don't say Kylie, Kiley, etc. We're dead set on Kai.)

So I pronounce Kylie with a "KIE" and Kailee with a "KAY". Through trying to work out what you mean, you want pronounce Kai as "KIE"? So not the difference of pronounciation you were wanting (If I was to try saying Kailee as "KIE-lee" it just sounds exactly the same as Kylie to me).
In spelling, Kailee or Kailey looks the least confusing to me. Kaile looks like it's "KAIL".

I think you're sort of out of luck...
Kai-anything will get the Kailey / Kayleigh / Kayley (see where I'm going with this)pronounciation, so I'd go with just Kai or Kaia, which I find lovely.
Personally, maybe you make Kylie and Kai-whatever sound different, but that's you - not anything to do with the actual pronounciation.

Er, um...gee, I prn Kylie and Kailee exactly the same! I wish I could hear you say it so I knew what the difference is. ;o)
I prefer the spelling Kailie, followed by Kailee (or KaiLee, if you feel that most people would prn Kailee the same as Kayley). I like the look of Kailey, but that looks too much like Bailey and invites the Kayley prn.

Kylie is a little more drawn out. Kye-lee vs. Ky-lee if that makes sense. I think.

Kailee is pronounced the same as Kaylee to me.
(Think about Bailey, Tailor, etc....they all have long A sound)
You have to consider that people are not going to pronounce or spell the name correctly.
I also dislike these names because they are very trendy and popular. I teach high school, and I've taught more Kailee/Kayley/Kylie etc...than you would believe.

Well, I probably can't truly help you, then. D: The only difference I could find is if you were saying kah-ee very, very quickly? I can hear something very small and different there. Otherwise, Ky and Kai are very much the same to my ear.
I will say this: my step-niece is a Kailie (prn. Kaylee in her case), and while I don't really care for that spelling, it looks the most "normal" to me due to familiarity. Kailee would be next, I guess. Kaileigh looks awful to me...which is odd, because Kayleigh is my preferred spelling of Kaylee. Kailea, no. Kaili...well, maybe that'd be acceptable, it's not terribly offenseive to the eyes. Maybe Kaili.
