Jace was shocked for three reasons when he found out Trent was cheating on him with his sister. For one, finding out one's spouse is cheating is always a shock. Secondly, Trent is gay. And finally, the entire family is still supposed to be hiding out.

After Jace found out, he and Trent got into a huge fight, but they have to continue living together to keep up appearances. It's hard, but hopefully this forced proximity will eventually help them to work it out.
