Wil took a paternity test and found out that the new baby isn't his. What happened?
It has been three years since Dakota was born. The Thompson family is proud to welcome a little girl! Her name is Naomi Margaret Thompson. All throughout her pregnancy, Lydia seemed very quiet and not too excited about the prospect of becoming a mother again. She took good care of the boys, but Wil began to worry about her. Finally, she confided in him and told him that she had had an affair. Because Wil is on the road a lot with the hockey team, Lydia found herself getting lonely. She went out with some friends one weekend and met a cute guy. They spent the night together and Lydia ended up getting pregnant. Wil was furious about this, of course, and wanted to divorce Lydia immediately; however, his pastor gave him better counsel. After giving himself a week to sort things out, Wil found that he could forgive Lydia and get on with life. It was a joyous day when Naomi was born. Just to be sure, Wil and Lydia agreed that Wil should take a paternity test. It came back saying that the baby wasn't his. With this information, Wil decided to legally adopt his new daughter--even though Lydia didn't think that it was necessary. With the rift between them healed, Lydia is getting counselling to help her cope with her feelings of loneliness and Wil is watching out for her.
