WDYTO Glynis on a child today? Is it too "old" sounding? Any middle name ideas? Thanks.

To tell you the truth I'm not sure how this name is pronounced...
If it's prn. GLEN-iss I have to say the sound is very unappealing to my ears. I don't think the name is "old" sounding but then again I tend to like the so called "old lady" names like Gloria and Agatha.

My neighbour's name is pronounced GLEN-iss.

I don't particularly like it because despite the popular British actress Glynis Johns (star of films about 40-50 years ago) I associate it with my elderly cat-hating neighbour! I think there are prettier Welsh girls' names beginning with G or with the -ys ending.
However, it has the merit of relatively uncommon and therefore probably not associated too much with a particular era.
If you stay with a Welsh theme how about
Glynis Angharad
Glynis Bethan
Glynis Bronwen
Glynis Rhiannon
