My middle name is Tamber (also my grandfather's middle name and his mother's middle name) and people do tend to think my parents just stuck a "t" onto Amber... I don't dislike Tamberlyn, but it does sound made up.

Makes me think of tambourine:-(

If she's really named after the 14th Century conqueror, that's kinda awesome. It's kinda like Valkyrie or Attila or something super strong and powerful like that. Except I wouldn't spell it at all like that.

Amberlyn would've been bad enough, but this sounds like someone named Amberlyn had a run in with a tamborine. :-/ Also makes me think of the actress Amber Tamblyn, whom I like, but Tamberlyn is a horrible name, even if someone were using it to honor her. :b

I like Amber Tamblyn, but I can't imagine naming my kid in honor of her. Haha.

It rather reminds me of actress, Amber Tamblyn's name all mixed into one name. I can't say I like it.

Although it's not my style at all, I do like the sound of it.

I don't care for it. I don't tend to be a huge fan of -lyn names, and this one just reminds me of the historical figure Timur via the westernized Tamburlaine, Tamerlane, etc. It's not a particularly appealing association for a little girl. Love Jane, though.
