[Opinions] Thoughts on Iphigenia
Is it too out there to use in this day and age?
Possible nns?

Actually, I like it. But I don’t think I’d use it, if I did I’d use it as a MN. I dont think its too out there
I don't think it is too out there. I really like the name, but I really don't like the English pronunciation of the name because it is completely different than the Greek pronunciation. I suppose I like Nia as a nickname.
I dislike it sorry
It was on my list for a while. I used to think it was pronounced if-ih-GEN-yah, like Virginia kind of, and I thought that was adorable with Ginny. But now that I know it's pronounced if-ih-gen-IE-ah, I'm much more respectful and wowed by it. I think it's actually a bit much as a first name, but if it were my middle name I'd be so pleased and privileged.
NNs are hard. Niah comes to mind, but that sounds awful. Genie works, it's a bit of a stretch.

Ipphigenia has a really nice sound. It might be considered very out there by lots of people, yes. I think it would work very well as a mn if you really like it. I can also see it working well on a cat.
Possible nns: Iphi, Ginny, Gene, Genia, Iph, Nia.

How do you pronounce it?
I think it might be too out there. I never heard it before so I am probably sounded it out wrong, lol. If I am pronouncing at right or at least that sound is in it, Genny (like Jenny), Gen, Geanie, Iphi, or Nia. Just throwing those out though.

Pronounced: Ifa gen ia
Iphigenia is a little too "out there" for me, but it's an awesome name. I think Bear has a copyright on it, though. ;-)
Nicknames could be Iph, Iphy, Gene, Genia, and Genie (like Jeanie).
