[Facts] Re: Karen?

Hi Julie,
Originally, Karen is the Danish version of the Swedish name Karin, which derives from the Greek name Aikaterine (English form: Catherine).
I don't know when Karen was first used in Denmark, but the Swedish version Karin was first used in Sweden in 1460.
Karen came to America with Scandinavian settlers in the 17th century, and in England it was first used as late as in the 1950s.
Regards, Satu
