Help[Opinions] Emmabella
So my friend is expecting her third baby (a girl) in 2 months and she couldn't decide whether to name the baby Emma or Isabella, so she is planning to combine the two names and call her Emmabella. Give me your honest opinion about the name.

I have been thinking about Emma- and -emma names lately. I think it is a bit of a double standard that Annabella is acceptable and Marianna is acceptable while Emmabella is ridiculous. I find both of them far too sickeningly sweet for my taste, but I don't really have a problem with either of them. Just because people haven't used Emmabella as much as Annabella, that doesn't mean it doesn't have the same etymological dignity.

I'd still prefer to see Isabella over Emmabella or Emma, though.

There are always double standards, as in for instance, Rose and Tulip are technically both flower names but Tulip would be considered ridiculous and certainly not Rose. Names with a long history of use are going to be better established.
Anyway, I agree that Annabella is almost as sappy as Emmabella.

I dislike it. It feels too long, because of all the repeated syllables. It also doesn't sound like one name. It sound like two smushed together.
Why not just call her Emma Isabella? (fn, mn)
The two "favourite" names are still being used.
Another variation - Ella?

What about Anabel/Annabelle etc?
I agree with the previous posters who said Emmabella a) sounds too frilly and b) has that princessy "bella" ending that is so common now.

Honestly?
It is combining a mind-numbingly overused name with a "I want my daughter to be a little princess" trendy ending.

I am not sure whether to give her props for her ingenuity or suggest she pick a completely different name by going to Nymbler and typing in Emma and Isabella - I've been a Nymbler fanatic lately.
While it's not the worst made up name ever, there's something about it that just doesn't flow.
It's kind of like Annabella, which I have been hearing more and more often lately, but there's something about the m sound in Emma that doesn't quite work with the "bella" ending.

I kinda like it. I'm not a hundred percent sold, but it's diffrent that is for sure. Congrats to her.
