I think that Amalia is just beautiful. Id has an elegance and grandness that Amelia just doesn't quite have. It's less popular too which adds to it's attraction.

I guess I never really thought about the pronunciation before, I've always pronounced it like Amelia only with the Ama- sound at the beginning so it would be ah-mahl-ya but BtN says that ah-MAH-lee-ah is the correct way to pronounce it.
