I had a Great Uncle named
Valentin
, pronounced val-en-TEEN, so that's how I, a Yank, automatically say
Valentin
when I see it.
Valentine
always gets val-en-tyne from me, because I associate it with
Valentine
's Day and that's how it's pronounced.
